Ashford International Station
Ashford Airport it is located in 2,2 km to the northeast from the city of Lidd and in 22,2 km to the south from city Ashford (Kent, Southeast England). The airport has the licence (number P858) for performance of passenger transportations and training of pilots. At the airport airline Lydd Air is based. Near to the airport the Ashford Railway Station is located.
In the airport mullions-strong investments into a new building of the terminal and runway increase are planned. The new terminal can serve 500,000 passengers in a year. The increase in a runway not only will allow larger planes to land at the airport, but also will allow what are maintained today, to fly with the big payload and a fuel considerable quantity.
Plans concerning the new terminal and runway increase have been presented local parliament. These plans have caused protests at local and national level as the negative ecological effect on local reserves is expected. In the future start of high-speed trains from station Ashford International which will reach London for 35 minutes is planned. Ashford International Station is an optimum variant of a trip to France through La Manche.
